Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor V1.2

With this capacitive soil moisture sensor, you can easily measure the moisture of plants and detect when the plant needs to be watered. The sensor has an integrated amplifier, so it can be directly connected to an analog input from an Arduino. The measuring probe is inserted into the soil and measures the capacity of the earth, which changes with the moisture. This capacitive soil moisture sensor, also known as Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor, does not have wear or corrosion like a conventional soil moisture sensor. You can find a programming example for reading out an analog sensor in the Arduino IDE under Examples / Analog / Analog Input.

Info: Since the sensor cut edges are not sealed, it can happen that moisture gets into the circuit board via the cut edge. If you want to extend the lifespan, you should seal the cut edges with clear varnish or epoxy resin.
